Top Social Networking Apps Performance in Hungary: Q3 2025

In the third quarter of 2025, the social networking app landscape in Hungary saw varied performance across the top five applications, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Threads, developed by Instagram, Inc., experienced fluctuating weekly download figures, peaking at approximately 13.6K in late July before declining to around 9K by the end of September. Active user numbers started at roughly 705K, dipped mid-quarter, but recovered to 758K by September 22.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady download rate, beginning at 14K and ending the quarter with similar numbers. Active users saw a slight rise from 1.8M to over 2M mid-quarter, with a final count of 1.9M.

TISZA Világ, a new entrant, quickly gained traction with downloads soaring from 18.9K to over 30K by the end of September.

Telegram Messenger showed consistent performance with weekly downloads ranging from 7.1K to 10K. Revenue saw an upward trend, peaking at $7.9K at the end of September. Active users fluctuated around 470K to 530K.

Pengu – Raise Virtual AI Pets had a notable increase in downloads, starting at 61 and reaching over 13K mid-quarter. Revenue began to rise in August, ending at around $276 weekly. Active users expanded from 359 to over 20K by the end of September.
